About EarthGem Jewelry

EarthGEM began as an adventurous trip to New Mexico where mother and daughter, Sylvia Wintermyer and Shelley Scheerschmidt became fascinated with the beauty of natural turquoise and the workmanship of American Indian artists. Through what was to become the beginning of many special friendships, we have embarked on the discovery of the fascinating culture and spiritual beliefs of the Navajo, Zuni and Santo Domingo people. Our travels have taken us down little traveled paths and into the homes of some of our most admired artists. The jewelry created by these artists is some of the most exceptional in the world.

We now travel frequently to New Mexico to meet with American Indian artists who hand-create their jewelry using simple tools and techniques that have been passed from generation to generation. We offer authentic one-of-a kind American Indian jewelry which we personally select.

Thanks for visiting with us.

“When I am hand grinding stones or hammering a piece of silver, I think good thoughts about who will be wearing the jewelry I am creating. I impart my energy and feelings of good health and well-being into the jewelry for the wearer”
